• Point: Inserts easily in relatively tight stitches, like back bump in chain or first stitch in row.
• Indentation: Yarn doesn’t slip off or drop stitches easily
• Smoothness/sliding: Yarn doesn’t drag or pick up fuzz
• Interchangeable cords: Descriptive
• Comfort (holding the hook) – small projects; large projects – doesn’t dig into hands, hands don’t tire easily
• Length/ease of cords: Easy to attach, non-intrusive, can accommodate extra large projects
• Cost: Descriptive
• Value: Doesn’t require purchasing extras; sets include most useful hook sizes
• Where it’s made: Descriptive. Preference up to the user – everything from China, Japan and India to the USA
• Material: Descriptive category
• Split-prone yarn experience: Using same size hook on same yarn, how often yarn splits occur when using the hook
• Fuzzy yarn experience: Does the hook pick up fuzz? Does it drag or pull?
